Week 1:

Assignment #1: Writing History Assigned Reading: Ch. 2: Writing in College

8/28 – Discuss Chapter 2 in class. Read Ch. 4 (PREWRITING) for next class

Week 2:

9/2  Labor Day. No Class. Work on your WRITING HISTORY assignment and reading assignment

9/4 Discuss/Quiz over Chapter 4 (PREWRITING) and the writing process. Assign DESCRIPTIVE ESSAY ASSIGNMENT. WRITING HISTORY DUE TODAY.

Homework – begin prewriting/drafting your descriptive essay. Also, read chapter 11: DESCRIPTION

Week 3:

9/9 Quiz/discussion of chapter 11 DESCRIPTION, Review peer review expectations

Homework – work on your descriptive essay assignment!

9/12 DRAFT of DESCRIPTIVE ESSAY DUE TODAY. Please bring 3 copies for in class peer review session.

Week 4:

9/16  Revised Descriptive Essay due today. Discuss PROCESS ANALYSIS Essay assignment

Homework – Read chapter 13 (Process Analysis) for next time

9/19 Finish discussion of chapter 13 and take a quiz

9/23 Process Analysis draft due today. Peer review session in class

11/15  - Revised Drafts due in class today for peer review session! Bring 3 copies.

Week 13:

11/18 --  Stop! Grammar time.
11/20 -- No Class. Prof Hoerth's birthday! :-)

Week 14

11/ 25 - Final Copy of Argumentative Essay Due by midnight, no late work accepted! Review portfolio requirements in class.
